The Tier&Technik trade fair, which took place at Olma Messen St. Gallen from February 20 to 23, 2025, proved to be an important trade event for the agricultural sector. With a focus on agriculture, animal feed, feed production and agricultural machinery, the trade fair attracted numerous companies from Switzerland and neighboring countries – both as exhibitors and trade visitors.

A central topic was the optimization of feed costs, which was also of particular interest to us as AgroTrade Feed Solutions. Current challenges and solutions for economically efficient feeding were discussed in specialist presentations. Particularly noteworthy was the presentation by the company TBB, which presented practical examples and discussed the essential nutritional values in animal husbandry. It also explained which factors play a decisive role in cost accounting, in particular the Income Over Feed Cost (IOFC). The participants gained valuable insights into how farms can optimize their feed costs – whether through increased in-house production or the targeted purchase of supplementary feed.
Another highly relevant topic for us was the production of pellets, in particular the drying of sugar beet pulp. The exchange with innovative companies showed that the energy required for this process can be significantly reduced if production facilities are built close to industrial plants that emit unused energy. This is not only an economically attractive solution, but also a sustainable one.
The Tier&Technik trade fair provided us with numerous valuable insights and the opportunity to exchange ideas with experts from the industry. We will actively incorporate the insights we gained into our work in order to offer our customers innovative and practice-oriented solutions.
We are already looking forward to the next Tier&Technik trade fair and to discovering further pioneering developments in the agricultural sector.
